Doing a routine post event inspection, I found a crack in my drilled Zimmermann front rotors. Pretty much like this example

(IMG:http://www.powerslot.com/images/productpages/moreinfo12.jpg)

I know this is nothing out of the ordinary and I usually just replace them. However as Einstein noted (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"

So considering ways to not keep replacing cracked rotors, I've noticed that alot of vendors are now listing the Power Slot Rotors

Anyone using these? Any feedback either positive or negative?

I used Power Slot on my 240Z a few years ago... Not sure what I have on there now... Hmmm maybe I have lost interest?
Anyway, I used their cross drilled rotors and had them cryogenically treated. I never had problems with them. I noticed the slotted models but they came out with these after I had purchased the cross drilled ones.
Check with Eric Shea. I think he may be a dealer for these...

I'm using them on front and rear of our race car.
I like them.
my organization (vintage) does not allow cross drilling
and my race shop likes slotting better than drilling anyways.

my rear rotors are solids instead of vented (again due to my clubs rules)
we had the rear solid rotors hand slotted

Let me throw in a picture:

I've had the same experience as the one described in the ad you quoted. I've seen a cross drilled rotor that broke all the way through, 1/3 of it flew off at speed, and blanked up a lot of expensive pieces on it's way out. I think that cross drilled are superior, but only if you can afford to replace them often.
I can't.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif)

I think I'll try the powerslots.

I have always had good braking performance with the drilled Zimmermanns (up until they crack) but I'd rather not be replacing rotors so often.

Does anyone recommend the additional cost for the 'cryo' treatment on the Power Slots?

Is there really a return on investment for this?

Thanks again for sharing your experiences!

As I recall they did not seem to wear as quickly...

I used them when I had a 4 bolt setup. In the rain they were awesome!!! Lots of AXing in the rain at Bremerton it seemed.

Now I had the drilled crossed vented disc's and they stop on a dime.
