Have you ever seen a CB radio install in a 914?

Looks like an low miles, excellent condition original LE Creamsicle to me. Its VIN is within the range of known other LE cars and it appears proper in every way. My website has other details.

Anxious to see how this auction turns out. Nobody tell the seller that it is an LE car that they only made 300 of OK?

Too bad it has a hood crest and antenna on the rear lid, and of course the CB, but otherwise it looks pretty original.

Ugly!!! Ugly!!! That is waay cool for a 70's car. Just remember the Firebirds with the decal on the hood or the look of the Corvette of that era!!Even the Mustangs were ugly!
Looks like a sweet car to me, maybe Jenny should just buy that one!!! If AA doesn't beat her to it or Jim in Portland.

What's with the corrosion on the gas tank? You shouldn't see that on a 45K mile always garaged car. The engine compartment also doesn't look very clean.

I agree w/ DD about the color combinations...(excuse me while I gag myself) another horrid combination is a 73 914 2.0 thta was originally l64 k (zambezi green) with tan interior that was repainted black...(barf)...convberting it to black....also...why did the 1970's cars have some dumb graphics like the "super chicken" on the firebird trans am hood (badchoice)....and the sorta cool porsche side skirt decals?

I think the final price could go any one of several ways.

Currently, there is an intrigue but limited interest in these Limited Edition cars. The color combo with the tan seats is...well...you have to get used to it. I assume its an original interior, although this is the first LE car I have seen with a tan interior.

The final value will depend on the actual condition of the car...rust coefficient...any previous body damage...condition of paint...originality and lack of PO mods. The car looks quite excellent from the photos, but only someone looking up close to it could really tell.

It can be a really excellent car, but if no one is interested this week, in this auction, it won't sell at all, much less exceed what a standard 914 would go for in similar condition. These are difficult economic times

If the right buyer is watching and interested, with money in hand, and if the condition of the car is top notch and original like it is portrayed, it could easily well surpass $10K. See our recent thread on the value of high end 914/4 cars. These LE cars will hold their value and appreciate quicker than other 914s primarily because of their rarity, and only if they are in excellent condition. I have a hunch this one will go high. I have not contacted the seller yet, but others have told me they have referred him to my website.

The car may also have had defects not seen in the photos. I think the CB antenna installed on the rear trunk might have been a deal killer for the $10K+ crowd - either you have to live with the antenna, plug the hole and look at the plug, or weld it shut and repaint the trunk lid. After you repaint you probably have a lid that doesn't match perfectly and you don't have an original paint car for the concours circuit.

I can't be the only 914 nut on these boards and lists to own a copy of this book.

I'm actually looking to install a CB in the /6 as soon as I can get the money saved up for a good model. I don't think I'll drill my deck lid though and I don't like magnetic mounts (will be getting FG soon) so I'm not sure what to do about the antenea.

The original owner had CB wire running from under the the dash into the tunnel through the fire wall going into the engine compartment. Thank god he didn't actually drill a hole for the antenna. I would have bought another 914! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
