I machine wash my socks and balaclava ( head sock ).
How should I launder my driving suit? Cold water wash and line dry? What works? KT |

I dry cleaned mine for a couple of years and was never happy that it didn't really look clean, so I asked some other racers. I was told to use Woolite and the gentle cycle on the washing machine and hang dry. That's what I've been doing for the past year and the suit is much cleaner looking and smelling. Your results may vary.

I say Trekkors driving suit is unsafe, and I would not be caught on course with him until he makes major changes in it's odor potential (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

hey seriously.
talk with your dry cleaner. I don't know the names but the common dry cleaner chemicals destroy the fire protection of the nomex. don't take it to the average dry cleaner my dry cleaner does a bunch of racing stuff and explained this to me. other racers local, told me the same thing. there is a not common drycleaning process that is nomex safe. make sure that your drycleaner knows and uses this process. brant |

Of coursse you know, if you were a "real" racer you would autograph your suit and throw it into a crowd of your groupies. Then suit up in your new gear.

Hand wash in (IMG:http://www.one80design.com/images/business_impact/woolite_side.jpg)
A large bottle is cheaper than one trip to the dry cleaners :CSOBsmilie: plus it works better. |
