got it on the calendar!
keep the reminders frequent 'cause there will be conflicting events and people will have to choose.
start assembling a list of area B&B's and such.

try to get it run under the sanction of the local PCA Region as a Tour so it'll qualify for liability insurance. post it with all the Zone websites and newsletter editors. get on the calendar in Panorama.

there is a "multi-event subsidy" that is available from PCA National, once per Region per year. arrange for two more 'activities' - a sho-n-shine and a tech quiz - for instance - and it'll go to the Region as an incentive and to defray any expenses (and the slight bother of filing for the Tour insurance binder).

it oughtta be a beautiful time of year - find someone with a large- or medium-format camera to get a really high quality photograph featuring a nice 914 and autumn colors and send it to Panorama.

that's off the top of my head... looking forward to it !

I think that the location was fantastic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I think that food was one of the few things missing. Maybe a lunch stop or pitch-in would work.

If we need a garage for a tech session, mine is available.

Let me know if you need assistance getting things set up.

Count me in to help out with whatever I can.
(ya know....in case you need to put a transmission back on your car again....haha (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) )

The food perspective could really use some more thought next year. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif)

You remember the marathon work done out west? Maybe add another day to the Fall Foliage Run and have a project car to work on. Nothing near as challenging as Jenny's car project, but I think it would be fun to get a handful of guys (maybe more) together to help right a teener.

Ditto

Maybe do a Eat, Drive, Tech??? You know meet for lunch, do the drive and tech session. I don't know if Doug (or his wife) would be ok with doing a tech session at his house again. If not would there be
another place to do it???

Is there a Indy area Porsche dealership? Maybe they might be interested in being a sponsor?? At my next
MIR PCA meeting I plan on asking about the insurance & tour stuff. I will keep you posted.

PS. I had a great time !!!!! and can't wait to do it again.

We need to get together next spring to map out a new route.
It will be a little slower than Saturday's drive, but still fun.

I'd like to go to an orchard, winery, restaurant...in the middle of the tour.
Doing that I wouldn't mind making the drive another 5 or 10 miles longer.

I don't know of any Porsche dealers in Indy (I'm not familiar enough with Indy), but Doc-N-Cy's is in the area. Maybe they'd be interested in associating themselves with us next year.

One more possible consideration is scheduling. The OVR-PCA has a similar run just an hour or two away and it's also in October IIRC. We may be able to get more 914's if we can continue to avoid the OVR event.

Tom Wood is more into the newer cars' buyers. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I invited Cy this year. Next year I'll send them a flyer and more info.

Maybe we should start it in their parking lot next year. We'll tell 'em when we get there that it's a 914 event and they're invited if they want to walk outside. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

We're thinking about an early starting time 9:14 ?

If so, will that affect attendance?
We can setup a base hotel nearby last year's starting point.

Tech session, bs, informal carshow, drive, food....what else sounds good?

comments, suggestions, etc...

I heard the last one was great! I am going for sure this year. Start it whenever you want, I doubt it will affect the attendance.

I am really going to try to attend.... if I can get my car on the road.

Just like other I am sure that I would drive in the night before and stay somewhere.

Maybe we could get a hospitality room at a hotel so that we can (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) ?

Just an idea... not sure how many will be coming in from out of town.

Todd,
if the 914 isn't done, then bring the MG. Can it keep up?

yes, the info is coming.

mention 914CLub. Room Rate is $99

They have 20 rooms held for us out of 29. If we fill this place up, we'll have to look for overflow. It is important for everyone to book hotel as soon as they know they are coming.
