I have been trying in vain to get the distributor on my '76 2.0 to move in order to adjust the timing. The clamp is loose, and I even loosened and removed the nut on the hold down in hopes I could pull the dizzy if needed. It will not budge. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

There is nothing on the distributor solid enough to use for leverage to either turn or pry beneath it, and I hesitate to grip it with a large channel-lock pliars or other squezzing tool for risk of damaging it.

Has anyone encountered this problem before and how, short of destroying the dizzy did you get it out?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance.
