BTW,
Anyone know when the SCCA run-offs are? I wonder if people are stock piling bias ply slicks? I can't find my tire sizes anywhere in the U.S. Everybody is backordered 6 to 8 weeks. Bill P. |

Yes, you can make up your own classes for competition purposes. Also it take 3 or more competitors to form a special class. the spirit of the rule was for Porsches. We have never allowed open wheeled vehicles at our events. Also, up until about 5-6 years ago....it was Porsches only.Currently PCA members can drive a non P car at events in fun class. Which do not acrew points for year end awards. That was done years ago when our AX events were having trouble getting enough participants and at least breaking even financially. It might be time to revisit that rule.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Just for some historical PCA perspective. Some California PCA regions have let non-Porsches compete in PCA events for a long time. In the Seventies there were Datsun's, BMW's, Vettes, Cobra's, MG's and even karts driven in PCA sanctioned autocrosses. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) When I asked Doug and Dana about this their response was that as long as someone was in PCA and owned a Porsche that they could bring another (non-Porsche) car any time their Porsche was down. Maybe the rules as written are different, but that has become the practice. |

From the GGR rule book:
2.1A Autocross- PCA members can compete for timed runs, but not for year end points in other makes of cars, provided that the car passes car safety tech. This was added about 6+ years ago....before Doug and Dana were participating. and as far as special classes go. Read below 4.0 L.Additionally, Special classes, to be designated S1, S2, etc., can be created by any three or more competitors who decide to run against each other. The competitors must petition the chairperson of the series (autocross or time trial) before the end of the first event of the season. Cars will comply with the safety regulations of the class they would normally fall from the designated classes. |
