It wasn't the 914 shape that VW complained about it was the use of the letters "VW" in the sign.......... I remember there was a independant repair shop that had VW & Porsche repair in their signage....Porsche set them a letter...they ignored it....Porsche sent another letter.....and the shop ignored it.....next thing was a couple of Sherifs showed up with Porsches Lawyer and a crane truck. The signs were removed and seized. ... So why did they ban this design ? http://www.cafepress.com/buy/914/-/pv_desi...pt_/fpt_/c_360/ |

I assume that this means that any large corporation bent on protecting their copyright actually has an individual or individuals employed for the express purpose of surfing the internet and looking for violators. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Man, how do I get that job? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Good luck working around this issue, I am sure you will find a loophole to take advantage of. |

They've been actively engaged in protecting their intellectual property for half a century, have lawyers practicing in every jurisdiction, and legal precedent on their side. Might as well face it, it's theirs, not yours, and they don't want you to use it. They win, you lose. Don't be naive, cut your losses before they become financial and large. Porsche does the same thing, as does every major auto manufacturer, and they mean business. The Cap'n |
