What is a good way to restore the fan shroud to a more factory look? I don't like shiney silver paint.

Perhaps some type of bead blasting? It's made of magnesium, hard to clean it up and get it looking decent. I had mine powder coated silver.

I have tried a few different things over the years but the only thing that I have

been happy with was:

1) Degrease and bead blast.

2) High temp aluminium paint.

3) Polyurethan clear.

The poly.. dulls the silver and the protects it from getting stained. I used Poly...

on my RC hydros to protect the paint from the Nitrobenzene fuel we used.
