I'll soon be installing my engine. Since I am using a GT style grill, it will get wet. Anyone know of a decent pad that will hold up to this? I don't care much for the metalized version,

I treated the engine side of my firewall with Hammerite, then covered it with FatMat. It's a DynaMat type of sound proofing, works well.

Dont put anything on it. Run the dynomat BEHIND the interior backpad. My personal preference is to leave the freshly painted firewall CLEAN.

The 3.6 engines are fairly quiet with the hydraulic lifters.

Still not quite sure why people run GT engine lids?

I don't have one but I like the look, and its a good place to mount grill badges. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)
