as most of you may know, there is one famous 914-6 with some bodywork from the famous Porsche specialist Glöckler

I wonder if anybody could tell me more about the history of this special car
I know that it was for sale in 1971 - the attached sales ad is from a german motor magazine from summer '71

but what about its further history (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
and ... what's the VIN (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Wierd. So the slant has been around quite some time... I don't like the way the lights up front look though.

Shute that is one thing I know EVERYTHING about my friend. With all the knowledge I have of this fine automobile there is one thing that is certain, unlike the 916, this NEVER inspired anyone to make an aftermarket look alike kit.LOL

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) It is very UNIBROW in design is it not; must be Mediterranian?

I'm aware of the Walter Glockler cars of the very early 50's, & know of the rarity. As I recall, there was a brother, Helm, who had some minor significance in racing of the 50-60 era.

In the back of my memory I also seem recall another Glockler in the late 60's/early 70's who had desire, but no taste in desiging - could be he was the one involved with this car. It is truely ugly, and does have 411/412 parts (turned upside down) on it. But there are other bumper adjustments made to the front that could be considered, um interesting.

Did Glockler at least make it go faster?

as you can see in the sales ad it says 170 HP and diff lock - so, yes this car should be faster than a stock 914-6 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
