here's another. i was very disappointed with the "lack" of top end. the car has those thick/plush carpeted floor mats with "porsche" in red on them. while vacuming the car yesterday i noticed they were over the pedal stop adjust screw. out came the utility knife. i cut a little x and pushed the mat down to expose the stop. almost 1/2 more pedal travel. i told jeanne i tinkered with the car and that i thought it made a dif. she gave it a go and was amazed. she thinks i'm some kind of mechanical wizzard (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

The fan emblem is supposed to come on only when the fan is on (top lever in the right half of its travel) to tell you that the fan is on. The light should be off if the lever is to the left.

Something else to do is make sure that with the pedal all the way down it actually opens the throttle the whole way. One of the classic problems is that you actually cannot attain Wide Open Throttle because the cable has stretched over the years and now only opens part way. It's easy to adjust.

Oh yeah - you can adjust the back-stop for the throttle too.

I give the throttle maybe 50% and I make the most tq then, not at 100%.. Bad injectors?

Great story Kevin. I want another crack at driving the car. I didn't realize how much I miss driving my car. Being a wannabe is no fun.

I have to admit I was wondering how 200 cc's could make that much difference. I expected less torque now I understand why it felt kinda weak.

Great fix

dave, come by and you can have a go at the silver car. it will be a taste of how your car will handle. when you're ready to go to fordahls i'll follow you up. there is 0 to do all day. unless you consider walking along clogged bellvue streets breathing fumes something to do. fiid, my thought is the matt saved the cable. but thanks for the tip. i will look into it. jeanne told me the car really "ZOOMS" now. it winds up real quick. maybe i'll back the adj screw back out. or get a rev limiting rotor. Don't start getting protective. Let Jean have her fun. Betsy likes to take Gerry out and show her that dad isn't the only one in the family that can the rear end out [car that is (I hope)]. Maybe Jean and Betsy can join Joan at Bremerton next year.

Are you bringing it to PCA-AX#9? Maybe we can get some folks to look at it?? I'll take a look - and I'll bring my multimeter and a copy of Kjells D-jet guide and maybe we can troubleshoot it.
