looks like the FAT fan, works ok but has hot/cold spots as there aren't any interal vanes to direct the air over the heads evenly.

Are you asking about the engine or the cooling system? Reports are that the cooling system is not very good. The 5 blade fan was poor even in the 911. Jake has posted about these before.

cooling fan isnt "poor"... you need to specify application...
race car- could use a fat shroud.... street car - neeeeeds tin.... and i read these tend to overcool...(change pulley size) |

It looked like a good deal at 375 but add the fan and the alternator and there goes the paycheck. It still is cheaper than a Bernie Bergman deal but it ain't worth it for a stock banger.

$1000 for a 1.7L core plus some rebuild parts doesn't sound much of a deal to me. There are also too many unknowns like who rebuilt the heads, cam specs, will the lifters last, etc. It also doesn't come with a 914 flywheel. Are 34ICT Webers any good on a 914?
