I recently got my spare tire tied down, so to speak(thanks Martin) and got to thinking that I should have a cargo net or something. In my daily driver, I have a little tackle box I keep in the trunk, tied to the frame with a bit of rope and a carabiner, very convenient and secure.

I keep tools in the trunk of the 914, tire pump, jack, that sort of thing. Any one done anything along these lines? Stock jack had a mount in the rear trunk, but I don't have a stock jack. I figure to get a piece of plywood and put a few holes or eyebolts, or something and bungee cords or cargo net. A picture would be nice, I need visuals

How about this, the tool kit from an old VW, the kind that fits in the spare, use one of them. Would save a bit of space in the trunk and even put the weight of the tools down low. Right now I have a fan belt and some hoses in the spare.
