My car was not mid-life, since I got it when I was 30. I'll bet that is true for the rest of us old geezers too. My theory is that the culture at the time of puberty and just after is what people cling to. I'm sure stuck in the seventies, and I'll bet this majority of geezers likes 70s stuff (music, cars, movies, etc.)

Since I fall in the category of "old farts" myself ...I wonder if this might be a testamony that the 914 is one of the best sports cars of all times...I have more than one Porsche now ...I had a new 914 in 1973 and owned many other sports cars since than...but the 914 is still my favorite after all those years ...

There is one thing that this poll has proven..

914's are loved, admired, collected, raced, and driven by people of all age groups. I would say that their are a wide spread amount of ages.. Plenty of teen agers and college student ages, family's, grandpa's, and even old geezers..

Love this group. Love this car!

Worst part of being old is you don't see or hear good and it's NOT caused by too much sex.
Fess up old teeners. Does Viagra make anyone of you hear or see better?

I heard that it makes you see more sex and hear more squealing. Thats better

Right?

Got my first 914 28 years ago last month.

After a dozen years of Porsches (since I retired from racing) I thought the 914 was a "kids" car...now at 46, and seeing all the enthusiasm here...I know it is!

Ya, my gf always wonders why I talk to and hang around "older" guys... I figured it was an interesting observation, and I wanted to find out what the age group that buys these hod rods of ours..

NOW.. the interesting part would be how much % of your yearly income do you spend on your 914 per year...
lol

that gets thrown way off when these old guys retire and pull minimal "income" ---> for tax purposes but seem to have infinite money (return of principal?) to spend on their toys (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) --- teener in the trust with all the rest of the money so its not spent just transfered from savings to "914 investment fund" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) LOL

i know in my case my $ spent on the car is a larger percentage of income than it "should" be. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

914-P retirement plan in the IRS code?
