This is from 1969, a road test that appeared on German TV (ZDF).

Road Test

Its 62Mb and lasts just over 16m. Its in German of course (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Interesting, had the area on top of the gas tank carpeted,

I like when he ran through the water and showed the puddle on the floor boards. They were not just playing, dirt roads, cobblestones and lots of tire noise. Did not spin it though, who was that guy?

That's pretty cool, I saved it to my computer and am going to have a friend of mine translate it for me. Not only can you drift these cars, but they make great off road vehicles as well and are part amphibious too. Great link and thanks.

"ZDF Autotest" was a program on german television (ZDF being the name of the channel) in the 60s/70s that tested new cars ...

i could spend some time doing subtitles. he's got a few funny things to say, but overall, he really liked the car and highly recommended it ...

Great vid! I really loved the built in aquarium and center console parking brake. The guy wore the coolest ladies winter coat/bathrobe too. nifty!!!!

Lots of nice shots of OTHER vw's snuck in there.

Even at those early days, someone was toying with converting a 914 to a water-cooled engine. Go figure.
