Yeah I know I usually only post when I break something.

Only digital pics I have are courtesy of jdogg. Hope this works.

I have lots of cosmetic plans for the winter (and heat)

All right, I admit - I lurk here pretty frequently. Most of my time lately has been spent with the other woma... er... car lately - my '60 Morris Mini.

Here's a pic of the 1970 914-6 I'm buying from my father. It's from a couple years ago at a local SCCA autocross. Dad's driving in this pic: one.(IMG:http://www.pelicanparts.com/pmpre/images/Dick_Shepherd/Porsche.jpg)

The car was found about 4 years ago in Danville, Il - Owned by a rather eccentric guy and his dentist wife. It had been sitting for 5 years in non-running condition, and was mechanically ressurected by Brad Mayeur here in Peoria. After having a cam seize on the original 2.0, we replaced it with a 2.7 RS Spec engine from a hill climb car (Thanks Don Girard!). It's got headers with custom heater boxes, and a Triad muffler for exhaust. Still a little rough around the edges, but this car flat out "hauls balls!" We keep a pair of "DependsĀ®" undergarments in the center deposit for first time passengers... heheh.

Since it's a 2.7L, it must be fast (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Ok, ok, I've been lurking more than posting lately. Haven't had anything to say, but have been reading a lot.

I keep missing the posts that get deleted. Also missed the 'good' avatars. Just as glad I did. Naked ladies with bare muffs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) don't do anything for me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Well, I guess I am also guilty of just reading more than posting, so here are a few pics of mywifes teener the day we got it home, the progress up until about a month ago, and the parts car that may eventually become my rebuilder.

Well now that we are all out in the open, sort of. This is a great site for my car addiction. I am trying to post pictures of the winter project. Its a 73 more or less. Most of you from socal may have seen it, if you have I would welcome any history.

I've been lurking for a while as well. I found this car earlier this year behind an auto repair shop. So far, I've started to replace the hoses/fuel lines and hope to try and get it running before the end of the year. If anyone has any projects going on in the N. Dallas area feel freee to email me....I'd be interested to see your progress and welcome the chance to actually see/hear a running 914.

Hopefully, I'll have more to share in the upcoming months. Thanks for all the good info so far!

Hi,
I have started reading and sometimes responding ...but here is my 73 1.7 project...found it in a bone yard...had been sitting there for 7 years. As unbelievable as it may seem the interior (tan) is in great shape...no damage to the seats...dash has 1 crack above the ashtray and it has the original radio in it...also had the original tool kit and the owners manual in the glovebox...motor is in pieces seems a valve imprinted its face on one of the pistons...rust is there... some surface and some places need complete replacement...all glass is perfect...but very dirty...paint was originally red...have not brought a car back to life...but am going to try....appreciate all on this board and their comments...have learned much already...want to learn more and am not afraid to ask questions...
Ed

OK Seanery,

Who the hell is that silly bastard in your avatar?

My car is 95% ready for the road, but as always extra cash needs to be spent in other places. Collects dust pretty gud though.

I dunno who the kid is, but the picture haunts me, so it became my avatar. I've been looking for a new pic, but it's gotta move me like this one did.
