So, I discovered the nice long twisty, curvy road way to the office every morning. What happens? About once a week I get caught behind the same ole granny driving her damn Prius. Speed limit is 30 and she goes about 20, but brakes before every curve and drops down to about 15. Drives me nuts as there is absolutely no place to pass on this road for about 10 miles. Noticed the gray haired grannies around here are all driving a Prius - must get about 50 miles to the gallon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Here in Connecticut you are in big trouble if you get behind a Buick or Cadillac with a padded roof and Florida plates..... on a winding road.

I got stuck behind a Prius a couple of days ago, are they really that slow? or is it the driver? It's almost as bad as an old VW Bus.

Any Buick, Ford Crown Vic or Mercury Grand Marquis.

"Leisure" vans.

Any late model car with a vinyl roof.

Any car with a row of baseball hats lined up on the rear shelf.

SUVs driven by women on the phone.

If I am behind a late model Buick (-5mph), with a padded, vinyl roof (-5mph) and there are a set of at least 3 baseball hats on the back shelf (-5mph), the cummulative speed below the limit will be 15mph, i.e., posted speed 50, aforementioned car will be doing 35 mph! The Prius is not the problem. The camera vehicle at MUSR 8 was a Prius, and Charlie hustled it really well. It's the driver..

I hate getting caught behind wannabe bikers with TRAINING WHEELS on the back of their friggin Harley. The problem with the Prius is that the drivers are hypnotized by the mpg and power gauges on the dash.

Hate to agree with you on anything (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) but that's an issue here. Sport bikes always seem to let you by, Harley groups don't. Then there's the spandex brigade riding 4 abreast demanding their space. Have a friend with a Ducati that just rides thru the middle of them like a bat out of hell. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

But most of the people seem to let you by with a flash of the lights and a gentle nudge.

Rule of golf and driving: If there's someone behind you that wasn't there a minute ago, and you didn't just pass him, he is going faster than you. Pull over and let him by.

You need to make it out here to the Sister Church of Our Lady of Moholland, Our Lady of Talimena. Getting stuck behind some old lady on a Harley that scares her (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif) less would drive you crazy.

We will be having a pilgrimage in April. You are retired and have nothing better to do, so why don't you come visit our Church?

I love the fact that the Yellow signs stating a speed limit are taken as law. I found out (never verified) that the yellow signs are used by Law Enforcement to dictate the speed they can safely go in the corner. So if the sign is x, the LE can safely navigate the corner at 2x. 2x+15 was the rule when on a motorcycle....
The people I hate to get behind are the RV's and custom Vans. They don't obey the 5 car rule and get very mad when you pass them. They need to use the "pull out" rule. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
