got a 73 2.0 and found this on the alternator, has a factory replacement injection hareness also with P/N tag still on it ,looks like it had a small engine fire.
Why does this have the big pos. lead up to the regulator and taps into the regulator plug?
Is it for a Bus?

I have never seen one like that. Do not think that it is for a 914.

Not 914 for sure. Looks like a 411/412 harness.

It has been so long since I took my 411 apart, I don't recall for sure. I think it was for the gas heater over the tranny. Two gas heaters in mine, the other was in the front trunk.

Looks like it was for a later Bus that had the optional HI-AMP alternator..

912E's with A/C and power sunroof also use these...

(How do I remember all this!)
