I'm looking to loose 20 lbs by replacing my front trunk lid with FG. Any advice on which types to get/avoid? Rennspeed has these for $275 new, while GT racing wants nearly twice this much. What's the difference? Are there any other manufacturers I should look at?

----Bill

PS. If you have a good used one you'd like to unload, PM me.

Before you buy, be sure to have the seller state the weight.

I've seen fiberglass lids vary by 15 pounds.

I have an A.I.R. fiberglass front hood and rear trunk lid. They are not very good quality and show a few waves. I wouldn't buy another one from them. I would look at Getty Design...I hear they use a better manufacturing process and feature a foam core...(I believe).

RennSpeed is cheap, however it fits terribly. I have one on my car.

I got front and rear CF lids from someone who got them from GT Racing. They don't weigh much but the finish is not to good. For a race car, I woulden't worry much about the finish and original setup as much as the weight savings. No hood hardware just a sheet of FG or CF pined to the front/rear would be the ticket (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif)
