Hello all.
Bought a 914 fropm a breakers yard in San Diego about 10 years ago and imported it into the UK. Trying to find out the history/ prev owners of the car. It was bought from a towing company called Clansies. I dont know how the USA systems work but how can I trace its history in the usa. it arrived in the UK with a plate on which says

CALIFORNIA CA 91
L7520434
1DGV 672... ANY HELPERS???

It was a72 1700 and is now fitted with a 3.0 motor.
chassis 4722907131

Great looking car... there is no central database in the US to track ownership... not sure how long the California MV dept keeps records

it's beautiful... but Ed is correct... there's no central database to track cars in our country.

Each state does it's own thing. The California Department of Motor Vehicles might be able to help some...
