Folks!
I am a long time PCA-San Diego Region member--probably know many of you, but this is the first time on this website. First Name: Felix--- My baby's name-R8CER X I am impressed with the support and knowledge on this website--looking at how many of you from different cities supported one of your fellow 914-6 owners (forget his name--green 914-6 from Colorado) to get his car repaired from the rear-end accident. Anyhow, I am joining with 5 goals in mind: #1-make new friends and contacts accross the states with similar 914 interests. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) #2-Help me learn more about 914's specially related to the 6 cylinder family. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) #3-Help me keep and improve on my 914-6. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) #4-Help me trace the whole history for my 914-6--Serial #9140432297. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) #5-See all of the above !! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) Feel free to contact me --look forward to meeting and re-uniting with old and new friends! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jsharp.gif) |

I am trying to figure this out--I just finished converting one file to a smaller dimension from the original, but when tried to up load via the little tree icon, it requests for an URL link??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)
any suggestions to make it appear in the post? how about in my signature? Already in trouble!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) |

Resize the picture to medium, then go to the "file attachment" area hit browse, double click on your picture, then go back to the "file attatchment" area and hit "add this attatchment" and then hit "add this" right next to the "preview" button and you're done.

Thanks Lou-
I checked your links and project car--impressive! You are probably already a great contact to help me get my typical rust underneath the passenger area fixed. I got some stiffening kit already aligned, and very likely will need to get a passenger under panel to fix the rusty area. Luckly, my battery tray and everything else is fine. So--I am searching for the right place, shop to do the above body welding/work and rust proofing---want to do it right, and not cut corners (figurely speaking!). My car I would consider is 90 to 95 % rust free, with the exception of the passenger area--the panel will need to be replaced. Any advise for shops or person? (I am dangerous around tools---but not a bad driver!!) |

(I am dangerous around tools---but not a bad driver!!) Thanks, it's been in the works for quite awhile. I'm anxious to get back to work on it again. I don't have a source of the top of my head for the body and rust repair, I did the work myself, but I'm sure someone here can point you in the right direction...hmmm... you may want to talk to Marv3.6, he's down in the Temecula area and see who he used on his. Most of the guys here do alot of the work themselves, and with lots of pictures of the affected rust areas on your car, could pretty much guide you through it if you chose to go that route. It sounds like your car is in very good condition. That's certainly a plus. |

Hi X:
I'm over in south OC. I do mostly track type stuff with my car but on rare occasion make it out for a fun run or stuff like that. I also do some AXing with PCA SDR (I'm in OC region) at Qualcomm. Later, Kevin ps here's me...in case the color isn't distinct enough the rear plate says "32FLAT6" Attached image(s) ![]() |

Hello folks!
Quite a nice trail of replies--love it!! I can only imagine real time gatherings! I will reply to some of your questions in this message- Tire size: 205-50/R15 with Khumo Ecsta-super for the road; got the same size cookie cutter rims for the slicks! Racing: I have been a PCA member since 1980's--do not recall the exact year--during this time I race in the autocross world at the Qualcomm (Jack Murphy in the old days) a 2.0 1974 914 (4 cyl). As I got into the job arena, I was able to afford my dream car--the 914-6. I won my KS Class two years in a row, but can brag a little of also getting some top good times overall---never in the top 10, but close enough--not bad for the little engine---got a video of a nice T-Turbo on my tail, but will drift back on the corners and slalom portion of the time trial track. I started the search for a 914-6 with flares and the whole bit, but was lucky to find R8CERX in Michigan---an original San Diego car that was purchased by a fellow in Michigan and did a nice job in restoring, while keeping it mostly original. Some performance upgrades such as the 911S cams (1967 specs), MSD, the fuch wheels, and sport muffler. I recently had a dyno run and came at 125 hp at the wheels! Through the years, I have been tempted to cut it up and make it into the 916 body style, bigger engine, etc etc...but having all numbers matching car (Engine, chassis, tranny) and pretty much as close as they came, I have been advised by many 914 experts and conoseiurs (spelling?), to leave it alone. Over the years, it seems that it has been the right decision, since it is one of the few left around from what I have seen!! Yet, I see some beautiful cars with the flares, big engines, and is tempting!!! So, thanks for the warm welcome, and look forward to all of your opinions, guidance, advise and support!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) PS--I have come to like the sandbox and the "hot chicks" thread!! I have yet to meet or chat with Mrs. K--but I can already tell that she has some good taste around here----I am bit confused about this...... why she has the better taste over the guys!
