Need a picture of a 1974 914 2ltr air cleaner. I'm backdating an 76 2ltr and don't want the air cleaner with the smog port on the front of the air cleaner. I want to make sure before I post a "wanted" ad in the classifieds for a 74 air cleaner.

Just use a block off plate to cover the hole. You shouldn't have to source an entirely different air cleaner.

It's been done 1000 times before. Everyone removes the smog stuff.

So why backdate the aircleaner?
Is it necessary?
Absolutely Not.

Will anyone but me even know or care that I changed the air cleaner?
Nope

Will it fool a "visual" smog inspection on a 74 car?
Well...mmm...maybe..ah hell, probably not.

So why do it?
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Cuz I want to!

PS Thanks for the pics
