I really like the GTS a lot.

Having a suspended seat makes a huge difference over a "foam on fiberglass" seat. I was very surprised at how nice the difference is, the suspension in the seat make the car a lot more comfortable.

The only problem is once you've driven in a GTS for a while, it would be hard to go back to foam over fiberglass. Now I'd have to spend the money to have this seat in any 914 I own!

Here is apicture of my lemans GTS seat installed. Worked fine with stock seat belts. I have since installed another GTS seat for the passenger and 5 pt harness for both also.

...Making my wife sit in Garold's car was probably the best thing I ever did for my seat campaign...

Who has good prices for the GTS seats? Do they bolt to the tracks easily? When the seat is a little more forward than in the phot's, can you still access the hand brake lever?

nein14, your GTS seats look different than 914-8's seats. Are there different variations of the same model?

Thanks,

Andys

"GTS" seats like mine and the others are made by BF Torino, and there are different styles.

Mine and Garolds are the "Le Mans" model. The Le Mans is specifically made to fit the 914.

It looks like nein14's are the "Rallye ST" model.

Here's a link to the various styles:

GTS Seats

These seats are a must have for me. Putting the GTS seat and a Momo Prototipo really changed the way my car feels to drive, for the better. The suspended seat makes the car feel more solid.

I have the Koenig/Scheel seats in my car...this was before the GTS seats came out. I believe the GTS are the best out there...they also have a more relaxed bolster where your lats hit. It's rather tight for a guy in the Koenig seats when hustling the car (flexing your lats makes a tight fit).
Both a way better at keeping you in the seat though.

For a cheap ass, I'd say stick with the stock seat and a DIY job of building up the bolster, else go for the GTS seat on the drivers side only.

*edit*
I'd post pictures of my seats if I didn't have a head-crash on my home PC (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Good thing the blog is still active, at least I have some pics left.

As the link above says, they are made for the 914. You simply unbolt the tracks from the bottom of your stock seat and bolt them to the GTS LeMans. Garolds seat shown above is the one I had. The "basket weave" they offer is very close to the stock pattern, but it is not exact (at least my seat was not). Also, with a backpad you cannot adjust the seat quite as far to the rear as stock. I did a 2200 mile round-trip to WCC 05 in great comfort and minimal fatigue.
As I stated above, check with Craig at Camp 914 for a price before purchasing elsewhere.

I have had all of the seats mentioned Scheels,Corbeau,Momo,Sparco,Renegade and a few others no mentioned. The GTS is like a piece of fine furniture when you look at the construction of the other seats. You and your butt will be completely spoiled by the comfort of the GTS seat.

Nope.. those are not Koenig seats.

I had a set in my car, and I hated them. I couldn't see out the back with them.

Put stock seats back in... with custom upholstery on them.

I have the Renagade seats in mine. They fit me much better than the 3R racing seats I had, As I am 5,9 and about 230 lbs.
