Any suggestions on how to remove a center cap without damage? You must be referring to the stainless factory alloy center cap. If so remove the wheel spray wd-40 around the inside perimeter of the cap and with a small blunt brass drift, tap around the perimeter edge of the cap until it loosens and moves outward. When reinstalling grease the cap's shaft and tap home with a rubber hammer |

Lube the inner and outer....I like using a large diameter wooden dowel, PVC pipe or socket with an extension that fills the interior of the cap....tap gently with a non-rebound mallet.

Always seems to easily distort. |

Always seems to easily distort. Clay Perrine showed me his trick about 5 years ago. a 12" piece of 2" pvc. One end has the outside diameter turned down to fit in the wheels center opening. pushes it right out. The other end has the inside turned so it fits over the cap and rest on the flange that seats it to the wheel. Works awesome and you will never damage the cap. Thanks Clay, Curt |

Use a 2" PVC coupling to re-install. Works great.
