You mean of course after Grant strips and paints the engine compartment, interior and inside the trunk.

Oh, and Grant don't forget all the cage.

The engine compartment paint is pristine. That's glue you see in the picture of engine compartment. I have tried a variety of chemicals on the stuff and progress in getting glue off the paint is very slow. Interior is good too just lots of glue and tar.

Yes "restoration" work has been hard. Taking a saw to the car was an emotionally painful expereince. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Actually the project has been closer to a de-restoration.

Remember this is what we started with:

There is something perversely satisfying in using that term.

the glue comes off with lacquer thinner and elbow grease. use gloves and a fan blowing fresh air to your face.

Don't use Xylol as it will take everything off. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

That used to be a sweet little blue 914 with a real big dude inside.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Come to think of it. Looked more like a matchbox car with him inside. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
