Making a bit of progress, but it's a 2 steps forwards, one step back affair...
I buttoned the short block up the other night and ran in to two problems. Jakes modified Type I pump and cover were a bit big for the stock studs, what I've done thus far is used no lock washer and torqued the nuts down with blue loctite. I also managed to buy Type I instead of Type IV case sealing nuts, so I had to assemble it with the old nuts. I put Curil T on both sides of the case washers just in case I couldn't (for whatever reason) re-torque the case wit the correct nuts. Opinions on what to do about both of these? I was thinking of leaving the oil pump alone and getting the correct nuts for the case and replacing them one at a time. -Aaron |
