OK, looking at gloss, semi, or flat for the rockers. What's best on a black car? Rockers are steel and lightly textured.

Also same question on the engine grill...

Flat black grill. Maybe flat black rockers air dam, valence. They are going to get chipped up behind the fr/rr wheels. This way you can respray every few years with a can.

I like a semi gloss or satin. the grilles, valances and rockers were never a flat black. They were more of a satin black. Over years of exposer they eventually turn flat.
I was just looking over mine yesterday at the body shop. My car is getting repainted black and I am going with a satin finish on mine and have decided to put the vinyl back on the pillars to balance everything out.

1970, Have the chrome bumpers, polished fuchs/4, going without vinyl but with lower targa bar trim-like the way it carries the body line.

Satin is sounding good.
