is 180lb springs too much? I plan on upgrading the struts to some decent kybs or something of that sort. I plan on autoxing, would that be too stiff?

We use 180's for auto'xing. I dont recommend them for a newbie... but we run them. You will also have to install larger torsion bars and or a large front sway bar.. otherwise you will be sliding the ass end around like no tomorrow.

Dont buy KYB's.. I'll personally kick your fresh out of boot camp ass.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) Buy decent shocks (or get in on our Bilstein buy) KYB's suck and offer NO spring perch adjustability (which means the car will sit height wise where ever KYB decided)

Jared,

I just put Koni yellows with 125 lb springs on adjustable perches (all from Paragon). I like the feel.

Do you have a front swaybar?

If not, get one, even a stock swaybar is better than none.

Putting stiffer rear springs on the back of the car with no swaybar or stock torsion bars can be dangerous since the rearend of the car will be stiffer than the front and it will want to break away faster and more often then the front end.

Even with only 140's, I'd want a swaybar or larger torsions

Jared,

Take a look at the Tarret sway bars. I feel these are "top of the line" for most 914 people. They are several steps above the Weltmeister bars and only a 1/4 step behind the Smart Bar (but costs a lot less than the Smart).

High quality product that is made in SoCal. (Diego to be exact)

> get in on our Bilstein buy

OK. I was away for a week and a half (Thailand). I need to get new shocks and springs (200#) for the rear and I suppose I'll get inserts for the front at the same time. How much for the fronts and rears? I'll be at the 914-V8 meet on Saturday so you can let me know there.
