hey ferg,

does this mean you are going to part with your other 914? may be worth my dads time to buy yours since he is in colorado and ditch his rather than squeeze the cash for a refurbish (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pain30.gif)

I took at least two of those pics. I thought the morning dew on the car made it look interesting in the early slanting light. It didn't even register on me that the car mentioned in earlier threads was that one....

Hey Ferg,

Removing the AC could be a major PIA. When I was looking a couple years ago I looked at a couple of cars with AC. If it has the center console You'd need to replace it as they were cut down to allow for the venting of the AC unit.

I'm not sure how much deeper it goes than that, but that was enough for me to not want to do it.

If the A/C is functioning I'd keep it. The only performance advantage you'd gain by removing is the reduction of weight.

Looks like the current owner painted the stripe on the car to get it to match his motorhome ( in the background). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/boldblue.gif) I'm back, drive went excellent. I wish I could have hung around CA and met Sammy and some other people but I needed to stay ahead of the storm, (which I did). Car is faster than I expected, and louder! and likes to cruise between 3,200 and 3,500 rpm which is about 90-100 indicated. Car never went above 200 degrees and oil pressure was 60-80 between 3000 and 3700 rpm and 20 at idle. Hopefully those are good numbers, (i'm such a newbie (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ). Anyhow, gotta start doing my homework on how to change oil, and tune. Car was as expected, and transaction was smooth. Got pulled over in Vegas outside of town doing an indicated 100 and the tags were expiered (never thought to check) but cop was a complete gentleman and gave me a warning (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif) . I'll have more pic's and details soon. Thanks for everyone's help. Ferg.

Glad the trip went well. the car seemed up to it when I drove it, but I was just a little worried that I could have missed something (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
