Good news: The nurse made Mike get a tetanus shot on April 1, 2007, so he may actually remember when he got it next time someone (or I) ask. And, Mike has a doctor's note to take 4 days off work.

Bad news: Mike's face is fractured in 5 places including 2 broken teeth - official diagnosis is nasal fracture, maxillary fracture, multiple facial fractures.

Mike was working under the yellow 914. The car was on jack stands, properly and firmly set as always, and one of the jack stands gave away. It didn't tip, fall off, etc., it gave away. I'm sure Mike will add detail here. His head was the only part of his body under the car and unfortunately his face was mashed. He managed to lift the car off himself and yell for me so I could help stop the deluge of blood coming from his nose and off to the emergency room we went. He's on a couple vicodin now so hopefully will be feeling no pain soon but the right side of his face is looking quite puffy.

Positive healing thoughts in his direction.

HOLY SHIT!!!

How long is he going to be out of it???

And because today is April 1st, and a Full Moon... I have to ask...

Is this true or a April Fools joke....

IF it is not, I hope Mike gets well soon.

No April fools unfortunately - we'd never fool about Mike having to get a tetanus shot. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'd take a picture for evidence but I'm just not that mean.

I hate jack stands thats why I had the roll around dolly for the car. glad to hear it was not worse than this. A good friend at work died from a car falling on him.

Sharon.. please don't think I am being callous.. But with the day of the year, I had to ask.

Please wish Mike well. Keep him doped up and some ice on his broken bones. And don't let the cops arrest you for beating him up! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Will do, Clay! Mike and I actually had this conversation on the way out of the emergency room, "You think they'll believe me when I post this? It is April Fool's day after all!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Gint,
Somebody up there likes you as well as we all do or so it seems.
Glad you are alive.

THAT'S AWFUL, If he needs anything let us know. I can sometimes. sneak away for a few hours. Also I hope he didn't hurt my possible next project.

By the way hope those jackstands weren't from Harbour Freight. I just bought a new set there, still in the box, might have to go back.

Wow, I can't wait to hear what happened, and hopefully there is something picture worthy that will shed some light on the failure. That mid-rise lift is looking a lot more attractive.

I hope it heals quickly. That sucks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Geez, I don't think I'll be working on anything unless it's on a lift. You're one lucky guy, Gint, It could be a LOT worse.
I hope you heal up quick. Positive vibes going your way.

April 1 may be you're luckest day! Good thing someone was home to hear you yelling.

Very sorry to hear this Mike.

Give us the detail of the jack stand so we can check ours.

Wow, I'm glad you're ok Gint. That's my worse nightmare, we're all lucky you're still around. I've had a few close calls, but not quite that severe.

I'll never look at my jackstands the same way again. I'm just glad it was his head under the car instead of his left leg. He could have lost his ability to clutch, that would have been a tragedy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hope you feel better soon, let us know if you need anything. I'll make Greg come over and work on your car for you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
