I'm upgrading my H4 headlights with 80/100W lamps.
Anyone know the guage of wires in stock electrical harness?? Are they AWG or metric sizes? Current carrying capacity? |

Answered my own question !
Check out: http://www.simetric.co.uk/siwire_elect.htm The Haynes manual electrical schematics have wire size in mm on each wire. They range from: 0.5 mm = between 22 and 20 awg (987 circ mils) 1.0 mm = between 18 and 16 awg (1974 circ mils) 1.5 mm = between 16 and 14 awg (2960 circ mils) 2.5 mm = between 14 and 12 awg (4934 circ mils) It looks to me that this will be close to capacity....... the stock alternator may not be large enough either. Has anyone tried this setup?? |
