Thanks to Kapt. Kaos I now have a very nicely bead blasted pair of cookie cutters. I bought some matte black powder from Columbia coatings and ont he package it says to treat surfaces first with iron phosphate.
So, should I give ths wheels a spray down with phosophoric acid then hose them off, or should I just wipe them off and powder coat? -Tony |

If they were steel, I would agree, but being an aluminum alloy, I am unsure. If they are freshly blasted and free from dirt (from blasting), I don't think you should have adhesion problems.

Best to heat them up to outgas shortly before coating them as well. No need for the acid.
