I saw him running it at Hershey this year. It was a lot of beast to control and took a few laps before it would not end up sideways. Very nice (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hi Larry,

This looks great! How is the car from Predator different than yours?

Also, any ideas on pricing from Predator?

Is his son Randy driving the car at events? Randy Beck and Jeff Hayes are two of the best 914-6 drivers in the world. Jeff will be in the USA next month after spending 5 years down under. He is also the founder of STOPTECH. The 904 Beck project looks very cool.

Very nice. Are these kit cars allowed in vintage races?

Long time with no info. Good to see it is happening.

I passed on a 904 in 1970 for $6500 asking price. Had 6 cylinder engine presumably transplanted. Instead traded my 912 for my first 914-6.

Haven't seen a 904 on the road since San Diego Parade in 1977.

Any one have a guess at the price. Do they sell a turnkey or only as a roller?

Hi Larry, When I was in the Navy (1967) I could have bought a new one off the dealers floor for $10,000. I was making $150 a month! That sounds like a lot then but I was driving a 1962 356 S Cabro (wife's car) that cost $5600 new. Al

Found it. 5 page article on the Beck904 in August 05 Excellence. In the neighborhood of 50k for a rolling chassis.

I talked to him at Hershey.
50k, no motor or trans...all the rest is there.

He has changed the chassis a bit, just enough to get a 6'4 person, 320 with helmet in and out of car...
A lower floor and lower seat did the trick, so the car is the same shape.

The sales guy was a big dude...and it wass important to make sure buyers would fit.
The original 904 is built for a person under 5'8

Rich
