There is an engine for sale in the classifieds..

What is needed besides what is listed?

If this requires a long answer from you, Sorry in advance (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I have a D-jet 2.0L and wouldn't mind a 6 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Cheers

a 1000$'s worth of oil tank and lines...and a 350$ worth of engine mount... muffler... rebuild the carbs.

This is probably the reason he is selling it.

You could buy it and sit on it.

There really is no way to get out cheap on the oil tank without it being badly hacked.

Sorry about that.

No worries Brad..

I was thinking since it came out of a 914 it would have everything needed except the mounts. I thought the oil tank would be included as part of the engine for sale.

Here is another Q for you...

If there was a 914-6 sitting infront of you and it ran but the body was rusted/damaged beyond repair, whould you just need the mounts? Not counting any rebuilds of parts.

Thanks again OB1

That is all you would need. Some way to mount the engine in the car (you could even cut out the OE 6 mount if you wanted too.

However.. I would repair every six chassis that I could. I havent seen anything "beyond repair" in a 9146 chassis.

my car was built just that way. The PO took a /6 that lost in an accident (don't know how bad) and a "straight" /4 chassis and mated the two. I have every part that I can tell from the /6 except the motor mount. When I bought it, it had a quick six bar. I've since installed a Rich Johnson mount. The oil tank still had a clean Porsche Dealer's sticker, so I assume that wasn't from the original car.

I wish I could find the original chassis. I'm sure it's long since beed a paper weight though. The good part about not having the right VIN is not having to worry so much.

Dont know if this is in poor form, but i listed the motor.

Have a bunch of dough in a big 4, full chasis treatment, stripping all wiring to go down to bare minimum needed for racing, and just not ready to roll with the 6 this year and need the money. Its an original 6 motor and was a great runner when the car was purchased by my father about 10 years ago. He put in a 300HP IMSA motor and the rest is a perpetual tale of money and speed...

Also, it has a muffler with the heat exchangers (i added that to the listing).

Sorry if i shouldnt put this here. Kerry and I had a pleasant couple of emails back and forth. Hope he finds what he wants!
