That's the scam e-mail.
The grammar (writing style) is quite poor in the text - obviously not a professional document even if you did not know about the scam method. |

Paypal does not email applications for you to use to update your account. If you can't go their web site and update your info, DON'T! I've received emails from Paypal telling me that my card was about to or had expired, and they always say go to the web site to update. |

I got that email too. Laughed. I could see how a lot of people fall for it though.
But if you send me your credit card number and expiration date I can ensure they never send it to you again! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

I thought it was "spoof@paypal.com" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (you can see this at Paypal's Security Statement)
Not that anyone does anything about these, but I do recommend you forward all these scams/spoofs on to ebay (spoof@ebay.com) and paypal, and make sure you give as much header information as possible (so they can see where it really comes from). Here is what paypal says: QUOTE If you think that you have received a fraudulent email (or fake website), please forward the email (or URL address) to spoof@paypal.com and then delete the email from your mailbox. Never click any links or attachments in a suspicious email. There are more and more of these nowadays - makes you wonder who has been sucked in. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) darn scammers!
