I got home from work today and wrote down the paint code for the 912....

Looked it up online, and the paint code is "Burgundy Red". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif)

I opened the picutre and it is friggin "PURPLE!!!"

Here's the picture I opened of a 912 painted that color....

Now, do I paint it PURPLE again, or do I paint it Irish Green??

Purple, Purple, Purple, Purple, Purple........

With a pink flame job. Nothing too flashy... just a nicely done, conservative PINK flame job where it starts out dark pink and goes to just barely pink on the tips of the flames!!!!!!!

The official name of the color was "Burgundy Red" but the paint code is the same as the 73 Auburgine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

And I am debating on the color because it is not going to stay a 912, I am putting a six in it.

Because I already have the six and a 356/912 motor is way to expensive.

Man! Brother! Its a 912; you must be excepionally comfortable with your male sexuallity. That being said, you should have no issues painting it purple. Your a 914 owner for god sakes! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Don't you have a little paint, and the roller brush, left over from the last paint job?

Nope.. swapped the turbo motor for a complete 2.4T motor and all the stuff to make it a 2.4S motor... i.e. Mag MFI stacks for a 2.2 S, brand new S cams, S throttle bodies, and a full set of 914/6 webers and manifolds.

I am going to put the 2.4 T motor with the webers in the 912.... therefore making it a 911.

The rest of the S parts will go in the 914 /6 to make if faster... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

go to your local paint store and get a sample of the paint and spray it on something and check it out. I dont think it is nearly as purple as you might think. more like red wine.

since you are not staying on the original route I would paint it the color that you like the best as long as it is done right with the jams all matching. If it has already been painted green (sweet green color you posted BTW) I would leave it green. 912's converted to six's can bring 911 prices. I had a slate gray 67 that I put a 2.7 in and when I finally sold it... the price was 12K. then I bought it back from that guy... drove it another year or so and sold it again for 15K. I liked the car so much that I made the guy I sold it to give me first right of refusal if he ever decides to sell it. So I might be the 3rd, 5th, and 7th owner of the car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
