So if you take a serious look at this mish-mash of mostly OEM stockness, can you tell what it is & what's not right? By my own count it's at least 13 different things that just are not "Kosher" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . What belongs & what does not? Or, can you tell what it's supposed to look like fully restored?

Paul

Paul- the throttle control lever in front of the stick shift is a dead give-a-way that she's a six. That means 70 or 71.

There are so many things "CW wrong" with the insides & yet it's almost all period correct & OEM.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) I am a renegade purist (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) . Another shot for study. Pat? Dave? Dr914? Gustl? Andy? Eric? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

For comparison only- a near perfect, OEM, CW approved, 74 LE interior (not including the floor mat):

door handle cups should be chrome
gauges in center depot, radio
porsche crest on steering wheel
later model passenger seat
mismatched color on map pocket and passenger door pull
black sill (door seal retainer)
door panels should be smooth rather than basketweave
seat adjuster handles not stock
speaker pods in kick panels not stock
no center vent on dash (unless that was an early -4 only thing)

The wiper control stalk made me think it was a /6 but the adjustable passengers' seat made me think it might be MY72. So the seat, of course, is incorrect then for the year.

The s/w crest shouldn't be painted.

I've never seen factory console gauges like that in a /6.

The radio !

I can't really make out the window winders, but the door pull surrounds look black, my '70/4 has chrome.

It looks like the carpet is of the "loop" variety, that would be wrong.

Yes
It's not painted, it's a OEM 356 hood emblem, flatened & mounted
YES (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)
Yes, Blaupunkt Sacramento
Window winders are period correct for 1970, wrong for 1974. All black in 74. Door pulls are 74, wrong for 70.
Carpet is supposed to be factory loom, only it's a lot more brown than Cinnamon/Tan.

From the look of the center depot, the carpets should be the grey perlon and the vinyl should be black (from the dash face and map pocket/pass door pull)

Well, if it's a nightmare, at least it's a very well put together one! For a driver, that car is easily lived in. In fact, you don't have to kick yourself if there's a piece of dirt on your shoe!

Left dash gauge is wrong: oil temp on top, fuel on bottom for 914/6.
