Friends, I just acquired a roller along with many parts etc. , AND a "rebuilt" 2.0. Well, I'm looking it over in the garage and I am wondering if one of you could enlighten me.........I am new to Porsche as of this year. At the fan end of the motor there are some "holes" that have been filled in with a smooth, grey, epoxy-like substance. Is this normal? What is it and what is it covering? See the attached photo.
Thanks all Ted K |

substance is likely jb weld
the "holes" are actually galley plugs that were affixed from the factory but need to be re-sealed after a rebuild so they don't pop-out and cause a massive oil leak. this is a good thing that it was done. |
