These pan-head screws are used to hold the engine tin in place. This part number is for the 6mm x 1.0 mm thread x 12mm long screws. Some screws are specified to be 10mm long, but 12mm screws would be satisfactory replacements.

Mark,
I'm scratching my head over this because I have almost all of my original screws in place on the tin. About half, or more, of the upper engine tin screws are cheesehead with a cad-type plating & the are "phillips" type. There are plenty of pan head screws all over the car & some in the engine compartment (mostly underneath tin pieces). The pan head (slotted) screws are not cad plated. ?????? Pat |

Hmmm, of all the engines I've touched (teardown, inspection, removal, etc) I can definitively say that the majority of tin screws have been clear zinc plated slotted screws. I wonder where your phillips head screws came from... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
I don't doubt your originality, but my experience does contradict it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |
