Hello all.
My question concerns the 914 stock ignition.
Can a Jacobs Ultra coil be used in the 914 reliably without compromising the ignition wiring harness?
Thanks

The stock ignition wiring is basically a +12V switched (from ignition) wire run to the + side of the coil.

From there, you have your triggering on the - side of the coil (distributor points or compufire/pertronix), your trigger for the fuel injection and tachometer.

Whatever system you install will have to provide an output for your tach/injection.

I have a Jacobs, ICE PAK for sale for $100. I bought it refurbished from Jacobs and replaced with MSD while rebuilding my 2.0 to a 2.7 with SDS EFI.

The Jacobs did a great job and still works if you want it. A good price too. I was able to put it in myself (and I ain't no mechanic).
