Hey everyone. The yellow '74 914 arrived on the truck today. I met the guy at the mall. I'll post another posting about the fiasco of getting the car off the truck.

Problem:
Start the car and it idles at or above 3000 rpm. There was one or two hoses that looked to go into the air box that were not connected them. I reconnected them but that did not help.
There is a hole on the drivers side on the engine block that does not have any hoses connected.

The air box to throttle body does not seat all the way down. I tried to press it down but it would not stay.

I left the car at the mall as I am afraid to drive the car around with it idling so high. I did a couple circles in first and second gear.

Please help!! I do not have a haynes manual yet as I did not expect to have any problems the very first day that it arrived.

Argh!!! The wiring is definately a hack job.

I'll post pictures later with circles around the various parts. I just got home and I am trying to relax. Very bad day. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

We my very first 914 and the first immediate problem.
