Ok, I pulled the engine, yanked one head, then, when removing the other, 3 of the top studs unthreaded from the block....


How do you remove? I was thinking about taking the grinder to the stud..but...

Vice grips? Torch? BFH???(just had to throw that in...

double nut the other end and use pb blaster on the stuck nut

Herb,
If you are removing the pistons and cylinders at the same time, pull the cylinders off with the heads and the studs.

If not, clean the threads, locktite on the threads and thread them back in....let sit over night and double nut the stud.

If you dont have room to double nut it, try to tighten it a little bit then back it off...

If not, take the cylinder out with it, it gives you more room to work.

If you get stuck let me know.
