I know the Tangerine headers are great and all that but the price is out of reach for most of us teeners. I found these while seaching for a cheaper alternative. They come with stub pipes and the muffler. Hell, if you subtract the cost of the muffler system that puts their entire header at around the cost of Tangerine's stub pipes alone.

Yes, I know cost isn't everything but they do look like a nice system. Perhaps a little free market competition could benefit everyone. And Jake says any engine mods are a waste of time without a high-flow exhaust.

Looks like a Euro-Race being sold by Paragon. I have a Euro-Race. They are good, but apparently still a notch or 2 below a Tangerine.

My feeling is, if you spend the money for a kit from Jake, I would take his advice all the way. No point buying from him, if you don't believe what he preaches. If you are just trying to add a header to a stock, mostly stock, or "on a budget" motor, the Euro-Race is probably a suitable alternative.

i have those very headers on my car. got them from stable energies. i believe they are a euro-race header. they sound great and are very easy to install! The only drawback is having to re-tune the carb to adjust for them. paid around 7-800 for them

With the 08-09 program, you have no choice... Without my recommendations being followed 100% as the engine was developed all my work and the benefits of the kit are compromised.

That exhaust is only acceptable for my 2056-115 "914S" and 2056-125 engine kits.

A few pegs above the stock HEs and aftermarket muffler, but not as good as the Tangerine EVO system.

I have them on my 2056 with 9550 Raby cam and 96mm KB pistons, they work very nicely for my setup.

Thanks for the photo. I think your setup is exactly what I'm shooting for. It seems to be the best price/performance combo.

I assume that Jake's 170HP 2056 as of late used a Tangerine Evo...

I am currently in the market for a complete setup and want to buy something appropriate for my current motor as well as the 2270+ once I get tired of the 2.0.

My question is, What size pipe diameter would be appropriate for the current carbed, cammed, 2ltr as well as a 2270-2316++

Secondary question, Present motor uses 009 and 1.7 HE's and a Monza which came on the car. Obviously these 3 items need replacement. But would those Items being sucky account for a motor running worse/ being strangled past say 4500 rpm.

Umm, Is it worth the 2-3K$ to remedy these problems, or would I get the same boost from 2.0HE's vice a full Tangerine set .

I hope that line of "questions" makes some sense. Just trying to keep active whilst I wait to get home.
Thanks guys,

The 2.0 HE's will probably help a little bit--but only a little bit. The Tangerine setup will help a lot. A whole lot.

So the ckoked off top end is at least in part the result of an undersized or restricted exhaust , coupled with poor timing...

Tony, If you live in Pierce county you should talk to Dave at Triad. When you get home there is a ton of guys around you that could help you out with Triad stuff. As far as I can tell it is the best stuff I have seen and it is right in your back yard. I live up in Snohomish county, but I can travel.

The Triad doesn't really do anything; its just a very nice muffler--not a header in itself so it won't even compare to the above headers. There is a chance that it might free up an extra 1-2hp, but that is nothing like a tangerine. It is pretty though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

You may want to check your facts on that one. Dave makes headers, and they are very nice. I have seen the tangerine and Triad side by side, and the only difference I noticed was the Triads were much less. I know Dave very well, and I have three of his exhausts. I also have the dino sheets to back up that Triad's systems free up maximum HP for an exhaust system.

actually the Triad header for the 4 cylinder looks very much like the Eurorace header on my car. Very different than the Tangerine.

here is the pic from Triad's website.

looks pretty much like the Eurorace to me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

That may have been the one I have seen. I don't remember for certain which it was. I was getting my six headers when I was looking at them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Yeah, I've never seen those. I am mistaken.... My facts were not right (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

At any rate... Triad makes a very nice header that delivers great performance.
