Are the front fenders on a 914 bolted or welded on? What is the procedure for removal? I'm thinking about installing flared fiberglass fenders. Can these be bolted on or must they be bonded?

Depending on your intended use, fenders or flares can be welded, glassed, or riveted on.

For street driven cars, most prefer welded on steel flares. For race or track cars, it depends how much access you want to the inner fender area. There are entire quarters that can be Dzus fastened on to the chassis, or you can go all the way to a Sheridan body. Money and rules are the limiting factors.
