Morning,

I found you guys from a post over at Classic Motorsports; I spend time there and at Grassroots Motorsports.

My name is Dan and I have a stock 1974 914 2.0, my second 914. The last one was a 2.0 also but it had suspension, 916 front and rear ends, breathed on motor and rode like a buckboard.

My current one I bought from the original owner. Long story short, I've know the guy for 20 years but never knew he had this, he's not a wrench and never talked about anything but sailing (we raced together). Come to find out, he bought this through a girl he was dating that worked for Porsche NA in 1974, he picked it up on the docks of New York City and drove it home to Albany. Runs good, stock, stock, stock, even the heat works. It has 57,000 miles ot it, never been out in the winter and was rained on five times that he can remember.

I have the usual horn-not-working issue and I want to replace the muffler with something more acoustically appealing.
For $3500. I'm very happy.

Dan

Started out on a Jet-14, went to Thistles and occasionally a J-29. Ended up with a Hobie 17 because crew commitments were on & off.

The kid with the fork?

Hey, found a picture ofmy last 914. That's Rufus, faithful garage dog always there to lay on your tools, get hit with Mig spatter, guard your beer or go for a ride. I do miss him.

Gee, sorry that I'm remembered for that and not my ability to cure cancer or walk on water. Some guy sent it to me in an email. Should I put it up or go to the "Sandbox" area?

I don't know the kid.

Nice car. Did I mention I hate you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ! What a great deal, it is nice to know there are still nice low mileage original cars out there for a decent price.
