Looking for info to see if anyone makes a longer cable. The reason is that the throttle cable now comes through the back side of the DTM shroud to operate the bellcrank linkage as you can see in the pics.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dominic

Swap the ball joints at the bellcrank and pull from the front.

It works in my head.

Mark,
I wish it was that easy, won't work because it won't fit under/around the alternator stand. I tried to mount the arms on the TB's the other way, but it was also a no-go. It looks like it works great in the rear engine configuration, but the cable appears to be too short the way I am routing it.

Good news! I got a reply from Jake on the Aircooled Technology forums and he said he used a 911 throttle cable on his 914. Just waiting on him to give me the part number so I can order one and try it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

you could re-route the cable so it comes up from the bottom closer to the middle of the motor.
That would give you a bit more length.

Update on the custom throttle cable:
I ordered a 964 cable (the only 911 throttle cable that I could find), the casing is longer but the cable will not reach the pedal cluster, that was a no go (anyone want to buy a new 964 throttle cable?)

Anyway, I just called TERRYCABLE (1-800-854-4691) and they are custom making me a cable for $45.00 (so I ordered two of them just in case I need another in the future) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Specs on a stock 914 cable: 41" casing, 101.5" total length

Specs for the stock 964 cable: 48" casing, 99.5" total length (actually shorter than the 914 cable

Lessons learned: Just call TERRYCABLE and forget the rest.
