today i had time to take a closer look at a set of 3-piece Fuchs wheels that had been leaking air.

once the tires were off, a closer inspection revealed that the PO had painted the complete inside surface on two of them.
as a result, the sealant did not stick well and was peeling off.

that stuff is a pain in the butt to clean off. it took me several hours to clean all 4 wheels and then scuff the paint with sandpaper and a wirebrush.

i resealed the set and we'll know by friday if it worked ...

the moral? don't paint your sealing surface!

Were these for your car Andy? Just curious b/c I thought you had some fm10's or something like that you were going to put on.
