Need some info on a small detail. '74 2.0L ---- What is the original color/finish of the engine cooling flaps rod? Black or natural metal?? How about the rod spring??

Rod was painted satin black, as were the flaps.

Spring was unpainted. Could have had a cad plating but I can't tell from mine.
