Wow it was cold. To be a racing fan in England you need 3 things.
1. love of the sport 2. really warm clothes 3. bottomless thermos of tea/coffee A friend of mine who works in newspapers gave me some corporate tix to Silverstone to see the supercar GT series. Amazing to see but it was so cold we could only stay outside for short periods watching them go round. Jaguar R type led for the first 15, then a 911 yay! for the mid portion only to be picked off by a Ford GT near the end. Excellent racing, particularly seeing Ferrari parts being scrapaed off the track. hah. 2 Ford Mustangs were present, asses way up in the air, and I couldn't help but feel sorry for the guys having to drive those bastards. The 2 Morgan Aero's are wonderful to listen too despite the retro look, not that I got a lot of looking done from inside the warm tents filled with donuts and tea. Saw my first Escari and the XBow as well. neat stuff. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
