Check it out, I bought an old service station lift for the garage this week, 400 bucks. needs a good cleaning and paint, I wire brushed most of the crap off of it and degreased it as well as I can for now, really need to powerwash it, And thats out of the question as it is -5 outside.

A good friend of mine has a cousin that had the lift at home in his garage, He owns a auto service shop and had no need for it. All he wanted was 400 bucks for it if I hauled it out.
With a little paint its gone to look great.

That does look just about ideal.

Where would one buy something like that? (new). And how much generally are they?

Biggest pain in the ass working on my car -> jacking it up. (especially the 24"-36" required to pull an engine from a type 1)

Try this one also. Works great for home garages
with low clearence. Kwiklift is the brand, cost a little
over $1k shipped, easy to use and the best part it
can be taken apart in 15 min and stored out of the
way if needed. I'm not a sales rep, just happy with my car lift.

I really like that style if you can't fit a 2 post lift in your garage.
I searched the manufacturers name and part number and came up virtually empty handed.

I wonder what kind of "safety catch/lock" they have? If they have one. That is my only concern with the one pictured in HF's website.

Mine is very old maybe 60's it is a 110v activated 3/4hp pump, hydraulic lift, I came up empty on the manufacturer also, it has a solid base, only the arms raise via the ram and it has a safety bar the drops into grooves on the base as it goes up. it has a 30" lift height. I have new rotors and pads to install I cant wait to get started I will be able to do it in record time.
